Downhill Mtn Bike day is something special at ELITEAM as it puts the Campers in control! They control the brakes and the steering wheel and can push their limits on their own. And judging by the smiles and the stories, they all found their limits and push through them on two wheels!
While some were biking, the others were in the Ninja Course and High Ropes finding out just how much risk they like in their lives! It was fun to see the Coaches challenge the Campers to let go of the safety harness and try something wild at 50 feet in the air!
And since we were there, we also rode the Alpine Coaster a few times!
Back at KMS in the afternoon it was time for some food Fear Factor. One by one, teams of four were brought up and each had to taste something healthy, but scary. Items included Oysters, Sardines, Cavier, Kimchi, and Octopus. Most were surprised that the weird foods didn’t taste that bad. Some, however, spit some things out after the five second rule!
After dinner it was back to the fields for some Crazy Relays. The Campers, along with the Coaches interlace creative skits in between agility challenges. Laughter filled the Killington Valley. And finally, it was the Jello Drop. This year was intense as many Teams were able to catch the Jello and remain alive. It was a tie between Campers and the Boy Counselors Lucas and Cade!!!
Today is the highlight of ELITEAM – the Sufferfest! A mile walk down the White River while doing 100 Burpees, 100 push-ups, 100 Mtn Climbers, 100 Rock Presses, 100 Rock Squats and a lot of water sprints. It’s suffering with a smile – all 60 of us!
And we look forward to seeing everyone at pick-up at 4pm!
