No matter what their specialty, young athletes benefit greatly from cross-training workouts. We make it a point to offer a wide variety of exercises and activities, along with a mix of traditional, weird, wacky and creative workouts! With the intent of building athletic proficiency, training activities will help improve each athlete’s strength, power, agility, balance, coordination, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility and core strength.
Mental strength is critical to success on race day. Your confidence, attitude and ability to handle stress will enable your mind to be at its peak, so your physical and technical strengths can shine through. We teach grit and perseverance, focus and concentration, visualization skills, how to deal with distractions, competition day plans, learning from failures, and how to handle stress, fear and anxiety. We practice gratitude, goal setting and loads of positive self-talk!
Food is fuel, and it will absolutely affect your energy level, strength, focus and performance. An emphasis on good nutrition will boost your training gains and race results. We introduce the basics of sports nutrition to demonstrate how food impacts athletic performance. Athletes will gain an understanding of nutrients, hydration, sugar, pre-competition meals, recovery fuel and healthy snacks.
