Today was all about kicking off camp ELITEAM-style—getting to know each other, building connections, and moving our bodies all afternoon and evening! From the very first moments, the focus was on teamwork, communication, and stepping outside our comfort zones.
We dove right in—literally—with 100 Burpees in 10 minutes. Sounds intense? It was! But the ELITEAMers took it head-on with grit, energy, and plenty of cheering. A tough start, but it set the tone for the day: work hard, support each other, and have fun doing it.
The afternoon brought a mix of Team Challenges, Agility Contests, and—you guessed it—more Burpees. Watching each group tackle these physical and mental puzzles was inspiring. There was plenty of strategizing, experimenting, failing, reworking, and eventually—succeeding. The best part? Seeing campers grow closer as teams, celebrating progress and high-fiving after each small win.
Dinner was well-earned: meatloaf, pasta, carrots, rice, and crispy finger potatoes (a crowd favorite). Recharged and refueled, we hit the field again for an evening of Agility Relays and a camp classic: “Shumbee” (ask your athlete to describe it!).
Coach Jimmy Krupka kept the energy high with a series of coordination challenges that had everyone twisting, jumping, and laughing through the chaos. Each ELITEAMer gave it their all, showing off both their physical and mental agility. Coach Alex’s Line was penalized with the most Push-ups, but seemed to like the added challenge!
We closed out the evening with 50 more Burpees, a quick team meeting, and a journaling session to reflect on the day. By lights out at 9:00 PM, the campers were worn out, but proud—a little sore, a lot accomplished, and even more excited for tomorrow.
Let the ELITEAM adventure begin!
