Tuesday is traditionally the toughest day at ELITEAM, and that is saying something!
We started with our morning run, stretch, and 50 burpees to wake up the body, the brain, and our gritty souls. After a big breakfast, the campers were fueled and ready for a full day of power, strength, agility, and digging deep.
At 8:30, we “warmed up” with another 50 burpees before tackling our legendary hill-sprint workout. Campers powered through one-legged jumps, tiptoe sprints, sideways skier jumps, quick feet, hurdles, deadman carries, and every other uphill challenge the coaches could dream up. We finished with three all-out tornado sprints. All the coaches joined in throughout and suffered just as much as the Campers. By 9:45, everyone was tired, sweaty, and still smiling!
Next came agility rotations featuring Berg und Thal, Quickfeet Slalom, BlazePod reaction drills, and the Dual Obstacle Challenge. Campers learned new movement skills while practicing how to focus, react quickly, and fully lock in when the pressure was on.
After lunch, we shifted to upper-body, lower-body, and core training. Led by World Cup athletes, physiologists, and NCAA competitors, the ELITEAMers learned proper technique, tried new exercises, and discovered just how many different ways muscles can burn!
Taco Tuesday helped us refuel, but we ate strategically because there were still 50 burpees waiting for us. That brought the day’s grand total to 250 burpees!
We finished the evening with Dodgeball and Agility Poles, just as a sudden downpour soaked everyone from head to toe. Naturally, the campers embraced the extra challenge and kept the energy high.
Tomorrow is all about mountain biking, followed by Cooking, Partner Yoga, and Paintball Biathlon. Somehow, the days just keep getting better!

What are the most important things to do to be fast at Quickfeet Slalom?
- Evan H. – The two things that are important are understanding and thinking fast.
- Lincoln H. – The first is confidence and you need strong leg muscles.
- Zachary Y. – Be close to the gate and block with one hand.
- Francisco D.P. – The most important thing to be fast is to take big steps which is important because you can cover more area.
- Julian B. – If the course gets faster you don’t slow down, you go faster.
- Ian B. – To train your reflexes and agility. It’s in the name, to have Quick Feet.
- Buddy P. – To be quick on your feet so you can go faster.
- Lochlan M. – You want to be quick on tempo and clear the gate. They help you pass the gate faster.
What was your favorite part of Hill Sprints and why?
- Evan H. – My favorite part was engaging muscles, when it’s not something you’re used to it helps gain more muscle.
- Lincoln H. – Hill springs help with your legs because you are building muscle and getting stronger.
- Zachary Y. – The tuck jumps because they burn and the long sprints because they are fun.
- Francisco D.P. – My favorite was the one footed jumps because I was good at them.
- Julian B. – I liked the backward tuck because I like to feel the burn!
- Ian B. – Probably the backward tucks because my best friend is the burn.
- Buddy P. – The firefighter carries because I got to carry my best friend Mac.
- Lochlan M. – The backward tuck jumps because it felt like we built more strength and balance.
