Today at ELITEAM…
We pushed our limits in the rain. Half the group was climbing in the trees all morning working on goal setting, visualization and jumping out of their comfort zones (literally!) in the high ropes course. Each camper attempted the Launching Pad, Cargo Net, Burma Bridge and Incline Log. Some campers had to face their fears high up in the trees, while other added a blindfold to intensify the challenge. The rain made it all the more challenging as the trees and wires were slippery. The other half of the group was working their quads, core, agility and coordination, which included a leg routine on the hill, the bergundtal, an agility obstacle, pogo-sticking and the quick feet SL.
After a lunch of grilled cheese to refuel, we started our rotations through three stations; cooking Ooey-Gooey Banana Chocolate chip muffins, an exciting dual obstacle, and a very challenging balance course with lots of uneven surfaces.
We finished off our afternoon with our first ever Square Dancing session that both the coaches and campers LOVED. Do-si-Do!!!
After dinner we finished off our day with a mini “Sufferfest”- 50 each of Burpees, Tuck Jumps, Push-ups, Russian Twists and Squats. Completely tuckered out, we ended with a yoga and relaxation session.
As a reward, we served their Ooey Gooey muffins to the campers right before bed. They were delicious!
Oh, and our challenge for today was “FITTER”, so we also threw in 12 minutes of planks!
The dorms were quiet at 9:03!
