The Eliteam Camp Staff of Vermont

About Devon Laidman

Advice to young athletes-
Don't be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone. You'll never get where you want to go if you don't push your limits.

What I love most about ELITEAM-
I love that Eliteam is as much about working out as it is about learning. I use a lot of those lessons in my sports today.

Nickname- Devo

Education-
Dover-Sherborn High School '14,
Ithaca College '18

Years at ELITEAM: 7
Camper-  4
Counselor- 2
Coach- 1

Competitive sports background-
Skiing: started skiing at age 2, racing at 8, raced for MWV and high school team. Started lacrosse in third grade, played club and high school, and continuing to play in college.

What I’ve learned from sports
I've learned that any extra work you put in helps. I always try to do wall ball or shoot around before or after practice. Sometimes the coaches notice, but that's not as important as knowing it will help improve your skills all the time.

Other sports/activities I like-
Standup paddle-boarding, hiking, knee-boarding, basically anything that gets the blood pumping and the muscles working!

Coaching experience-
Coaching lots of girls youth lacrosse!

Personal/ Fitness goals for 2014-
Staying in shape over summer for college fall ball! Lots of sprints, running, circuits, and wall ball!

When I’m not coaching at Eliteam, I’m…
Running around on the lacrosse field and traveling to tournament, or practicing for the jello drop!

Favorite ELITEAM dance move-
CPR is my go-to move!

Favorite “power” food/fuel-
ELITEAM black bean brownies

Most memorable ELITEAM moment-
So many memories! I'd have to say running down the sand pits in Park City, those were intense!

My motto in life-
"A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there."
